It is quite a challenge for people to arrange their clothings that they want to wear several times before washing
due to the disconnection between the hamper and the hanger, which leads to an inconsistency of where people
place and organize their dirty clothes. Personal experiences have proven this to be an issue as well. When the
clothes that can be worn repeatedly start to stack up throughout the week, it gets quite difficult to flip through
the stack to try to find the desired ones to wear for the day. LaundrA tackles the issue by integrating where the
dirty laundry is placed, while segregating clothes that can still be worn for a few more days from the ones that
absolutely need to be washed.

Where do people usually place their unwashed clothes?
Ideation
During the ideation phase, there were originally three main concepts—duration tracking, hanging and storing, and sanitizing. The hanging and storing concept was eventually chosen to be the final concept.
The final concept was inspired by the tree hanging and storing idea. The clothes that can still be worn for a few more days would be hung on the tree branches, and the ones that absolutely need to be washed would then go straight into the hamper at the bottom.

Prototype 1
The first prototype utilizes a hanger and a base attached to the bottom that holds the hamper.

Prototype 2
The second prototype has a similar hanger frame; however, the main difference is that instead of having hanging rods in the middle, it has four hooks on the side of the frame.

Prototype 3
The third prototype is designed to be hung inside the closet, which means it does not have a self-standing frame; a soft hamper can be hooked onto the bottom of the hanger.

Final Concept
The final concept utilizes Z-shaped like side frames. This allows the clothes to be hung without overlapping with each other, which makes the hanging process inconvenient. It also means that the overall height of the product can be reduced, which saves a lot of space.
The final functions and goals of the product is to be able to integrate where the dirty laundry is placed, while segregating clothes that can still be worn for a few more days from the ones that absolutely need to be washed.
The center section can mainly be used to hang pants, while the side hooks can be used to hang clothes and other miscellaneous items.
The final product will be a self-standing hanger without the hanging option, since there is simply no point in hanging it. This is considered the fact that it already has the structural rigidity for it to be able to stand by itself; moreover, since it already takes up pretty much the full height of the closet, it will not save any space even if it was to be hung.
The hamper has a translucent dark gray color with tiny holes on all sides to allow for better ventilation. The purpose of using the dark translucent color is to allow people to somewhat see the items inside the hamper while not being able to completely see what is inside. At a far distance, it basically looks like a black hamper; while at a closer distance, users will be able to see what is inside the hamper.
